Bitcoin casino auto-conversion fees - Cafe Casino charging 3.2% BTC to USD when I never requested conversion

Hit a decent win at Cafe Casino yesterday - turned 0.05 BTC into 0.18 BTC playing their Aztec's Millions slot. When I went to withdraw, noticed my balance showed as $4,680 USD instead of 0.18 BTC.

Checked the transaction history and saw an automatic conversion from BTC to USD at a rate that gave me 3.2% less than the market rate at withdrawal time. I never opted for currency conversion - deposited BTC, played in BTC mode, expected BTC withdrawal.

Anyone else seeing forced conversions at Cafe Casino? Their terms mention conversion fees but I thought that was optional. Market rate was $26,850 per BTC when I withdrew, but they used $25,991 per BTC.

That's rough. I stick to Ignition and BetOnline specifically because they keep everything in crypto if you deposit crypto. Never had a forced conversion issue with either.

Cafe Casino has always been weird about their currency handling. Last time I played there (maybe 6 months ago), they switched my display to USD randomly mid-session even though I deposited BTC. Didn't lose money on conversion fees since I cashed out quickly, but the whole experience felt sketchy.

Try contacting their support - sometimes they'll reverse conversion fees if you can prove you didn't request the conversion.

Check their terms again - I remember reading something about automatic conversion after wins over a certain threshold. Could be wrong though.

Wild Casino did something similar to me last month but only on a $200 win, so the fee was maybe $6. Still annoying but not worth fighting. Your situation with 0.13 BTC difference is definitely worth pushing back on.

This is exactly why I avoid Cafe Casino for crypto play. Their conversion system is predatory - they use their own exchange rates that are always 2-4% worse than market.

SuperSlots and Slots.lv (same company) do the same thing but they're more transparent about it. They show you the conversion rate before processing and let you cancel.

For pure crypto gaming, stick with Ignition or BetOnline. Both have clean BTC-in, BTC-out policies with no surprise conversions.

Had this exact issue 3 weeks ago! Deposited 0.08 BTC, won big on Cleopatra's Gold, tried to withdraw 0.22 BTC but got converted to USD at a terrible rate.

I opened a support ticket and they said it was "system automated conversion for compliance reasons." Took 4 days of back-and-forth but they eventually processed my withdrawal in BTC at the correct market rate.

Keep pushing support - mention that you never consented to currency conversion and want your withdrawal processed in the same currency you deposited.

Update on my earlier comment - just checked Cafe Casino's terms (Section 7.3) and they do reserve the right to convert crypto to USD "for operational purposes" without prior notice.

Pretty sneaky clause buried in the fine print. The good news is they also state that conversion fees "may be waived at management discretion" - so definitely worth fighting this through support.
