Ethereum Classic ETC withdrawal fees 8 ETC at BetWhale when network cost is 0.005 ETC

Just checked BetWhale's withdrawal page and they're charging 8 ETC for Ethereum Classic withdrawals. Network fees are currently sitting at 0.005 ETC according to multiple block explorers.

That's a 1,600x markup over actual network costs. I've been tracking crypto casino fees across different chains for years and this is one of the highest markups I've seen.

For comparison, my last ETC withdrawal from a different exchange cost 0.008 ETC total. BetWhale is essentially charging $120+ in fees for a transaction that costs 7 cents on-chain.

Anyone else notice this with ETC specifically, or are other altcoin withdrawal fees similarly inflated at crypto casinos?

That's wild. I stick to Bitcoin for this exact reason - most crypto casinos keep BTC fees reasonable because it's their bread and butter.

Checked a few other sites and Ignition Casino doesn't even offer ETC withdrawals, Wild Casino has it at 6 ETC, and Super Slots is showing 10 ETC. Seems like crypto casinos are treating smaller altcoins as profit centers rather than actual payment methods.

Might be worth switching to Bitcoin or Litecoin if you're doing regular withdrawals. Network congestion is predictable and fees stay closer to actual costs.

I've seen similar markups on other altcoins. Cafe Casino was charging 25 MATIC when Polygon network fees were under 0.01 MATIC.

The pattern seems to be that crypto casinos set flat withdrawal fees based on USD value rather than updating them based on actual network costs. When altcoin prices drop, the fee becomes a massive percentage of your withdrawal.

Best strategy I've found is converting smaller altcoins to Bitcoin or Ethereum before withdrawing. Most casinos offer better rates on the major cryptocurrencies.

This is exactly why I avoid altcoin deposits entirely. Crypto casinos know most players won't do the math on network fees vs their withdrawal charges.

Bitcoin withdrawals at BetOnline typically run 0.0005 BTC when network fees are around 0.0003 BTC - much more reasonable markup. Same with Litecoin at most sites.

For ETC specifically, you're probably better off finding a traditional exchange that supports it, even if you have to do an extra step of moving funds around. That 8 ETC fee is basically highway robbery.

I learned this lesson the hard way with a different altcoin last year. Won decent money but the withdrawal fee ate up 40% of my winnings.

Now I always check withdrawal fees before making any deposits. Most crypto casinos bury this information pretty deep in their banking pages, but it's worth finding before you commit to playing with a specific cryptocurrency.

For anyone reading this - screenshot the fee schedule when you sign up. I've seen casinos quietly increase altcoin withdrawal fees without notice.
