Just noticed Cafe Casino credits USDT deposits instantly to my account balance, but Bitcoin deposits still require 3 network confirmations before I can play. Both are on different networks (USDT on Tron, BTC on Bitcoin network) but the risk seems similar.

Anyone know why crypto casinos have different confirmation policies for stablecoins vs Bitcoin? Is it about network stability, transaction costs, or something else? I'm seeing this pattern at multiple brands now.

    It's about double-spend risk and network characteristics. Bitcoin's 10-minute block times mean each confirmation takes longer, so casinos want multiple confirmations for security. Tron network (where most USDT runs) has 3-second block times and different consensus.

    Plus stablecoins like USDT are pegged to USD, so less volatility risk for the casino during the confirmation period. Bitcoin can swing 5% while you're waiting for confirmations.

    BetOnline does the same thing - instant USDT, 2 confirmations for BTC.

    I've noticed Wild Casino actually requires 6 confirmations for Bitcoin but only 1 for USDT. The bigger the casino's Bitcoin exposure, the more conservative they get with confirmations.

    Also worth noting that Tron network has never had a successful double-spend attack, while Bitcoin has had a few small ones over the years. Different risk profiles.

    Ignition Casino used to do instant USDT but switched to 1 confirmation after some issues last year. I think it depends on the casino's risk management and which payment processor they use.

    Some processors offer instant credit but charge the casino higher fees for that service. So you might see instant USDT at higher-volume casinos that can negotiate better rates.

    Network fees also play a role. USDT on Tron costs under $1 to send, so if there's a problem transaction, it's cheap to resolve. Bitcoin fees can be $20+ during busy periods.
